The World Wide Web Of Hype

Re-entering the Affilaite Marketing in January 2012 after a 7 year "hiatus," I wasn't sure what I wanted to promote yet, but I did know I wanted to stand out from the crowd.

I knew I wanted to be marketing products that would help my audience solve their problems in one way or another..and would bring in a great income while doing so.

It’s as simple as that.

The sheer volume of products one can promote for a commission are, to say the least, staggering. I looked into ClickBank (open it in a new browser and check it out later if you haven't been there before.) as well as other affiliate "wonderlands" offering a commission for affiliate sales..
  • Ebooks
  • Software
  • Physical Products
  • Apps
  • Memberships
You name it, you can find it, and you can promote it for commission.

I knew that as soon as I found that SPECIAL thing I would know instantly and market it for commission....successfully.

In the meantime, I decided to start focusing on the "bread and butter" of the business...the marketing.

I had a several business and marketing classes in college. I know I can be creative with my marketing techniques.

This is going to be fun...and profitable. I am committed to our success.

I know the best way to do that is find someone knowledgeable, and duplicate their actions.  A very fundamental concept in our industry that we hear so much about, yet few TRULY teach.

Well, I tried several programs that claimed to "Guarantee my Success" so I could start relearning everything about marketing that I could.

It didn't take long for me to see what so many of YOU have come to realize....there is a LOT of bullshit out there trying to convince us to market "Business Opportunities" and “Systems” offering little more of value than a DREAM OF RICHES simply by promoting THEIR program....then leaving us to ourselves to figure out how to promote it alone.  No support. No one willing to offer assistance.

It's unethical.
It's dishonest.
It's the reason there is a 90% failure rate in the "Make Money Online" affiliate niche.

It is the reason I have created this blog.

We should be working together.

The experience from working with these "Busniess Opportunites" opened my eyes....WIDE.

I realized that there were literally THOUSANDS of "Business Opportunites" preying on the hopes of HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS, if not MILLIONS of honest people like you and I by convincing us of "Guaranteed Success" simply my promoting little more than words and dreams. NOTHING of real value.

I now understand exactly why so many people are failing and why these shady programs are practically ALL that we see everywhere we look.

We can promote ANYTHING for commission. Personally, I started with DVD Burning Software and did quite well, for a short period of time. Had I not quit, I would have tried marketing something else, and most importantly..attempted additional marketing methods to promote it.

We did NOT search the phrase “Make Money Online” for the first time with the intention of promoting little more than the words "Guaranteed Success!" to the  "Make Money Online” industry itself. Or did we?

LET'S CHECK. HERE'S YOUR SCENARIO.

I walk up to you on the street and tell you I have some merchandise that I want you to help market with me, simply because the market is so large that I can't possibly show everyone what products I have to offer by myself alone.

You will keep 50% of the sale price, but our customers can ask for a refund if they are not fully satisfied. No questions asked.

You must promote 2 of these 5 options. Choose wisely:

A. DREAMS
B. NIGHTMARES
C. HALLUCINATIONS
D. Dog Treats
E. A BUSINESS SERVICE THAT HELPS OTHERS LIKE YOU promote ANYTHING YOU WANT ONLINE.

Make sense?

The unfortunate reality is that so many  “Business Opportunities” or "Systems" on the Web are responsible for MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of "Guaranteed Success!" advertisements sent weekly all over the web, ironically, by "broke" affiliates.

The result is an epidemic that I have unofficially coined as...

“The World Wide Web of Hype.”

Fellow Affiliate Marketers,

The statistics do not lie.

MILLIONS of "GUARANTEED SUCCESS" advertisements are sent everyday by hardworking, honest, aspiring Affiliate Marketers because we are told it will make us successful.

We are pushed to spend REAL money advertising their worthless, “Dime A Dozen”, systems and Business Opportunities.

If it's not real, or it doesn't WORK, you shouldn't try to promote it. That goes for Dreams, Nightmares, Hullucinations, Leprauchans, and dates with Marilyn Monroe...unless you're in Vegas, naturally. :)

People will continue to fall victim unless we educate and provide something rare in our industry....hope and trust.

A little TEAMWORK and TRAINING would be nice along the way when we could use it as well, don't you think?

As Fellow Affiliate Marketers, It's time that we start working together for the professional benefits of all, regardless of the products we promote. I encourage each and every reader to leave a comment.
